Karabo ea Bophelo

Funded by USAID and PEPFAR

Our approach

  • Karabo ea ophelo (KB) is a five year project which commenced in 2019 and which will end in 2024
  • It is funded by USAID and PEPFAR
  • It operates in all the ten districts of Lesotho
  • WLSA is the sub implementing partner in all the ten districts

About Us

Karabo ea Bophelo (KB) is a five (5) year program with a strategic objective of supporting the government of Lesotho’s (GOL) multi-sector strategies and priorities for HIV mitigation and prevention, with an emphasis on minimizing negative impacts of HIV on OVC and AGYW; addressing social, behavioural and structural drivers of HIV, and improving access to comprehensive SRH services to prevent new infections.

Women and Law in Southern Africa Research and Education Trust –Lesotho (WLSA) which is an organization that specializes predominately with violence intervention programming is one of the implementing partners of Karabo ea Bophelo (KB) (which translates as ‘a solution to good health’). WLSA’s role within the project falls squarely within Sub-IR 3.2 which relates to strengthening of GBV prevention and post-violence care services. A two tier approach is utilized in this regard being advocacy on VAC and GBV legal response as well as legal case management activities.”
